We provide safe and inclusive learning environments that foster positive relationships to support the whole student.
Our After School program targets 3,000 students in Sonoma and Napa counties—students who are under-performing in low-income schools where families face multiple socioeconomic, academic, and health challenges. Students participate in small group Literacy, STEM, and Healthy Behaviors tutoring to help them achieve academically and engage in healthy life choices.
Students in need of the most intensive support are referred to small-group tutoring with an AmeriCorps Mentor. Groups of 4-5 students meet daily for 30 minutes, and stay together throughout the school year, allowing students the time they need to build strong connections with their Mentor and make significant growth in their skills.
Taking an inquiry-based, multi-disciplinary approach, AmeriCorps Mentors guide students through curriculum designed to ignite their excitement for learning and build their skills. Mentors follow structured, research-based lesson plans to further each students abilities to reach their academic or health goals.
