Julie McClure founded CalSERVES in 1998 and has been serving as the Program Director since that time. CalSERVES provides engaging and effective after school programs to youth, meaningful development experiences to staff and AmeriCorps members, and training to educational organizations and non-profit staff throughout the State. With her leadership, CalSERVES is regarded as a model for offering community and afterschool programming, and is known for its innovative use of AmeriCorps resources and the integration of service in all of its programs. Julie touches all aspects of the programs, providing leadership in the development of program policies, training programs, evaluation guidelines, and strategic plans. She also takes a lead role in advocating for community and after school programs locally and statewide, including leading the California After School Demonstration Program and Healthy Behavior Learning Center. Julie is a board member with the California AmeriCorps Alliance. Julie received her Masters in Public Administration from Sonoma State University.
